March 8th | USPEAK organized a graduation ceremony remotely for the TWE Program (Teaching Women English) students in Lebanon through the Zoom Meeting program, after them showing courage and leadership, with the support of the American Embassy, and the guest of honor for the ceremony was the United States ambassador, Dorothy Shea, who was also present, as well as the cultural affairs officer in the embassy. And since the ceremony was unique because it was held remotely due to the Corona Pandemic, the protocol of the usual graduation ceremonies differed, as the American Ambassador Dorothy Shea gave her speech via a video clip, in which she expressed her happiness that she was participating in the graduation ceremony of women who made involvement in the field of work, she also saluted Rawan Yaghi, founder of USPEaK, for her cooperation in this program. Shia considered that this program reflects two themes that constitute her passion, namely the empowerment of women and entrepreneurship, and concluded with her enthusiasm to see women working to develop their skills to successfully integrate their ideas into the trade market and obtain an income for them and their families, she also congratulated them on their success and overcoming the difficulties at this time of the year, and awaits the steps that the graduates will take later.
USPEaK Foundation Founder, Rawan Yaghi, also gave her speech in which she praised the students’ achievement and appreciation for it, and went to the graduates, confirming that what they have achieved in these circumstances, which they are going through, is a matter of pride, and their proof of their ability to face the difficulties that in turn enable them to prove themselves in society. She ended her word by thanking all the female graduates for their perseverance in this program, which was able to bring 15 women into the labor market and display their products. She also thanked the participating organizations and the municipalities that cooperated with USPEaK in this program, and also thanked the American Embassy in Beirut for its support for this program.
