A Film screening “ Hidden Figures” was held at American University of Beirut that discussed the story of a team of female African-American mathematicians who served a vital role in NASA during the early years of the U.S. space program. 75 women attended from the classes of Byblos, Mrouj, and Beirut. Saida was supposed to participate but due to the late time of the screening, they were unable to attend. This event was held by the US Embassy where the Cultural Affairs Officer, Ms. Kristin Smith facilitated the screening and highlighted the different aspects that African American women had to deal with.
